"December 4, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians:
As you know, we dismissed school today at 11:00 due to receiving information that one of our students tested positive for the Co-Vid 19 virus. As a cautionary measure we closed all our schools in order to have time to work with the CDC to understand how far-reaching the exposure and potential contact may be. As soon as we know these details, we will provide you with as much information as we can.
At this time, all I can tell you is that we have a positive case with a student that attends Harrington Elementary School. This student has not ridden the bus. Our plan is to have all our district students do remote learning for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. That would be remote for December 7, 8 & 9, and then return to school on Thursday, December 10. During this time, all our schools will be deep cleaned and disinfected. Our plan is subject to change depending on any potential new information that might come in or other positive case confirmations.
I want to thank you for all your efforts and understanding during these most difficult times. I know that today’s dismissal created a hardship for many of you. We are trying to be proactive and keep all our students as safe as we can while still providing them with the best education that we can under these circumstances.
I know that everyone has been working hard to maintain our school year and to support our students (your children) in the most stressful of conditions. I want to thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. We will keep you informed via our messaging system, school and district Facebook pages and our websites.
Sincerely,
Ronald C. Ramsay
Superintendent of Schools
