Dear Daniel W. Merritt School Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. It is my privilege to be your school principal and I am excited to welcome back returning students and to greet our new students as well. The D.W. Merritt School is a wonderful place to learn and grow. I believe, as the banner in our lobby states, “The Best students in the World are Learning here.”
Our goal is to create a safe, happy and productive learning environment. The staff and I strive to make learning engaging and fun. We offer standards based curriculum and differentiated instruction in nurturing pre-k through grade 6 classrooms. The staff, students and families all have an important role to play. Communication, relationship building and on-going collaboration are essential to student learning.
The student handbook will be sent home on the first day of school. Please review it with your child/children. The handbook explains guidelines, rules and procedures that are necessary in order for all of our students to reach their full learning potential.

You may also scroll to the bottom of the D.W. Merritt webpage and you will find links to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can customize theses free Apps for your cell phones to display information relevant to our school. You can also follow school news on the Eagles Booster Club facebook page.
