This summer Miss Yvonne received a grant from Pets in the Classroom to purchase guinea pigs for her speech and language room. Yesterday the students voted on the guinea pigs' names: Bubbles and Bella. The students will be using the guinea pigs to learn about habitats, animal care, and growing food using a hydroponics system. The students will use information learned to complete Venn Diagrams, bar graphs, and charts. They will also take part in experiments involving foods the animals like and building an obstacle courses for the guinea pigs. Over the year the students will illustrate and write about the things they have learned and the adventures taken with Bubbles and Bella to be put into a book for the whole school.
