hawks christmas

Dear HES Parents, Families, & Community:

I hope this message finds you well.

As you know, we fully intended to have school today as normal; however, electrical issues became evident as we opened the building and ramped things up for the day. This caused several issues including the fire alarm sounding and not stopping. We do not usually wait that long to make a decision and apologize for any confusion this late announcement may have caused.

We appreciate the prompt response from the Harrington Volunteer Fire Department, Epping Fire District, Addison Volunteer Fire Department, and other first responders. Special thank you to the bus drivers, the staff at Narraguagus Jr/Sr High School, staff at the Superintendent’s Office and HES staff who helped during this situation. A final thank you goes to parents and families for understanding that we always want students safe and had to make other arrangements to busy schedules today. At all times, students were safe and supervised.

At this time, we are waiting for Versant and our electrical contractors to ensure all the wiring is safe. There will be no school for Harrington Elementary School only on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

The Christmas concert and all other Christmas activities, such as classroom parties, will be rescheduled for January. I will update you as soon as we have plans in place.

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. I look forward to welcoming students back on January 2, 2024!

Sincerely,
Eric M. Brooks
Principal
