Dear Parents and Guardians:

I hope you are all staying healthy, managing well, and getting and providing much needed support as we move forward day by day in this seemingly never-ending Corona Virus crisis. I want to thank you for all your efforts and understanding during these most difficult times.

S.A.D. #37 will be going remote until after Thanksgiving break. We will return to in-person instruction on Monday, November 29. Meals will be provided during this remote time. Details for your individual schools will be provided to you via your school’s Principal through our regular means of communication.

Over the weekend we have had 11 new cases of Corona spread throughout all of our schools. As a result of these new cases, we are temporarily left with the inability to transport our students to and from school. This period of remote time away from school will hopefully reduce our positivity rate, decrease our need to quarantine and allow us to return at full capacity after Thanksgiving.

This transition to remote education away from school will give us 14 total days closed. Hopefully, this will be enough time to slow the potential spread within our schools, enough time for our students and staff who have tested positive to get well and to no longer be contagious, and enough time for everyone to take a breath and enjoy some time at home with their families and be ready to return to school on Monday, November 29.

I know that everyone has been working hard to maintain our school year, to support our students, your children, in these most difficult conditions. We have tried very hard to keep everyone in school, in person, for as long as we could. To go remote is not a choice that came easy or that was made lightly. Our School Board and I want to thank you for all that you have done and continue to do. I hope that this decision to go remote for the next two weeks does not add more stress and create more problems for you and your family than it solves. I know that for many families it increases the burden of finding childcare and for that I apologize.

Take care of yourself and those around you.

Sincerely,

Ronald C. Ramsay
