Remote Snow Day

November 5, 2020

Dear Parents,

Last week, in an effort to be pro-active your child(ren) brought  home COVID emergency packets.  These are not for use at this time, but in case we have to close school due to an outbreak of COVID within our school(s) or the DOE changes our status from YELLOW to RED. Teachers have worked to create packets that will continue your child(ren)’s learning until we can get everyone on his/her Google Classroom or Google Meet.  Please keep these packets in a safe and accessible place.  Please DO NOT have your child(ren) do this work ahead of time.  It is truly only for use in a case of an emergency shutdown.

At the October MSAD#37 Board of Directors meeting, the School Board voted to do away with Snow Days and change them into Remote Snow Days. On Friday, students will be bringing home BLUE packets. If the superintendent should call a Snow Day due to weather conditions, students will work on snow day packets from home.  During the Remote Snow Day, teachers will reach out to students via Google Meet or Google Classroom.  Any remote snow days will count as school days and they will not have to be made up at the end of the school year.

As with our COVID packets, these Snow Day packets should be put in an accessible place and not brought out until needed.  These are stand-alone lessons that deal with your child(ren)’s learning standards.

I want to thank-you for your continued support as we work together to give your child/children the best possible learning experiences during these uncertain times!  If there any questions, please feel free to call or email me.

Sincerely,

Susan V. Meserve, Principal
