
For those students who were invited to the induction ceremony of the National Jr Honor Society and the National Honor Society, please note the date is April 13th. 7th graders will be inducted at 6:00pm. 8th and 9th graders will be inducted at 6:30pm. The 10th through 12th graders ceremony will start at 7:00pm. Each student is allowed to bring 3 guests.

The Jobs For Maine’s Graduates program at Narraguagus Jr./Sr. High School is recruiting 10th-12th graders for next year. Jobs For Maine's Graduates or JMG is a private, non-profit organization operating in the state of Maine to provide quality programming for students in grades 6 through 12 (10th-12th at Narraguagus). The JMG high school core program is offered in partnership with public schools, and all programs are offered as a for-credit course. The primary objective of the core program is to keep students fully engaged in high school through graduation, leading to enrollment in post-secondary education, a continued education credential or training program, or a quality job with a career pathway.

Today, Governor Janet Mills designated Washington County as a yellow risk level. Due to this, all after school activities, events, co-curricular and extra curricular activities are cancelled starting today and continuing until our county goes back to green.

Community Service Opportunity
Volunteers Needed for Whiting Corner Cleanup
As part of the global World Fish Migration Day, which is a one-day global celebration to create awareness on the importance of free flowing rivers and migratory fish, Downeast Salmon Federation is having a river clean up. It is a simple project for 2 hours, cleaning the area near the Whiting Store on the Orange River.
Volunteers should meet at the Whiting Store where DSF coordinators will supply cleanup materials and coordinate the project. COVID-19 restrictions will be observed. Please bring a mask.

Jr. High Cross Country for 7th and 8th graders will begin Monday, 2:30-4:00 at NJSHS. This week will be 2:30-4:00 Monday to Thursday.

A community service opportunity is available to help an individual move things and clean up their space. For more information contact Mary in the Guidance Office.

Jr High Intramural Volleyball will begin on Thursday, October 1st, at Narraguagus. 7th and 8th grade girls who wish to participate should pick up an Elementary Athletic Code at Narraguagus or it may be printed from our website. You must have a permission slip, proof of insurance, and a current physical in order to participate.

Due to current guidelines, only spectators from the home team will be allowed at our home games. All athletes will be given tickets to give out to people they wish to have at their game. Spectators must give their ticket to the ticket taker and enter the field at the designated area. Spectators are required to social distance and wear a mask. Bleachers will not be available. If you do not have a ticket, you cannot get out of your vehicle or enter the field. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to attend away games.

Jr High Coed Intramural Soccer 2020
Jr High Coed Intramural Soccer will begin on Monday, September 28th, at Narraguagus. Times are from 3:00 to 4:15, Monday through Thursday. 6th graders who wish to participate, will be bussed to Narraguagus from each elementary school, except on Wednesdays. All players will need their own transportation on Wednesdays and at 4:15 each day. Students may pick up athletic codes from their school or on our website. In order to participate you must have a signed permission slip as well as proof of insurance and a current physical.

Narraguagus Neck Buffs and Masks are in. If you ordered a Narraguagus neck buff or mask, please send your money to the school with your student. Prices: Masks--$8 and Buffs--$10. If you do not have anyone at the school, please call the school at 483-2746 to arrange for pick up.

Any student interested in helping an elderly resident of Cherryfield store firewood to earn their community service hours, contact the Guidance Office for more information.

Great News! Student Schedules are done! You may now log into your PowerSchool account to see your class schedule for this 2020-21 school year. If you know your PowerSchool login, you may check it now. If you can’t remember your login or do not have a PowerSchool account yet, please do not call the school. We are sending all students their schedules home in a mailing this week. At the bottom of your bell schedule, you will see "Day". It will list Maroon or White. Even Fully Remote students have been put in Maroon or White so we could divide the classes. You will also notice that your schedule looks like you are supposed to be at school everyday. As you all know, we are doing the Hybrid Model and you will only be at school 2 days a week. Maroon days are Monday and Thursday. White days are Tuesday and Friday. Please do not ask to change from Maroon to White or White to Maroon.

Voluntary Fall Sports Conditioning
Today is the start of the MPA Phase 4 VOLUNTARY Fall Sports Conditioning program, which runs for the next two weeks. This is considered summer work, it's voluntary and for those interested in Fall Sports only.
Paperwork and physicals are not required to attend these sessions. Paperwork will be required on September 8th.

FFA advisors Caroline Foote and David Rinkle with volunteers Denise Vose, Mike Devlin and recent graduate Aislinn Devlin were busy in Mary's Garden on Sunday. Approximately 3/4 of the 4 large garden beds were planted in tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins and an assortment of sunflowers. The rest of the garden will be planted in mid-July with Potatoes and herbs. Please remember, the perennial garden portion of Mary's Garden is open to the public and is a wonderful place for peace and quiet.

UPDATE ON SAD 37 SCHOOL CLOSING:
With updates from the Governor recommending avoiding groups larger than 50, and the President's that groups be no more than 10, we have made the decision to NOT have school on Wednesday, March 18th as planned. The Knights will host the Blue Devils of Calais for games this evening at 5:00 & 6:30.

The Narraguagus Jr/Sr High School community joins Washington Academy in mourning the untimely loss of their student, Gavin Skidgel, in a tragic accident last Friday. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to wear blue and gold on Monday in support of the Skidgel family.

12/17: All afternoon activities have been cancelled for this afternoon/evening....this includes....practices, EdGE, driver ed, adult ed, detention hall, games and sports pictures at Harrington.

There will be DWM jr high boy’s basketball practice today but none on Thursday.

There will be no Jr High EdGE bus for Addison students only on 12/12 and 12/19. There still will be a bus for Columbia, Columbia Falls, Milbridge and Harrington. Addison students are still welcome to attend but will need their own ride home that day.

Today’s scrimmages (with Dexter at EMCC) that were cancelled due to the “no school” day WILL NOT be rescheduled.

Due to the weather, today's games have been moved to tomorrow (10/18). Home girls' soccer vs. WA at 3:30 and VB at Sumner at 4:00. Sumner will be recognizing Volley for the Cure.

Rescheduled DAC Cross Country Championship date has been set for Tuesday, October 22. Boys' race will begin at 3:00. The girls' race will follow.

HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR VENDOR/CRAFT SPACES AVAILABLE. Senior Class will be sponsoring a craft fair on Saturday, November 16 from 8-3. Vendor spaces have become available. If interested, contact Dawn Stubbs 483-2746 or dstubbs@msad37.org for a vendor form.

School Pictures are in. Students will start picking them up at lunch time today. All students present on picture day had their photos taken. LifeTouch has provided a sample photo with info on how to order if you missed it. Picture Retake day has been set for November 7th.

HS Boys' Soccer game has been reschedule for this Thursday, October 10th. We will have double header soccer games at Shead with the boys playing at 2:00 and girls at 3:30. Bus will leave at noon.
