Dear HES Parents,

We have had a student at Harrington Elementary School test positive for COVID-19. In response to this, and following CDC’s protocols and consulting with Amanda Tozier, the District School Nurse, and Mr. Ramsay, the individuals that were in close contact are being quarantined. Any students that rode Buddy’s bus Thursday morning are also close contacts.  If your child rode Buddy’s bus on Thursday morning please contact me at 598-6136 or Amanda Tozier at 598-5766.

These students will be remote learners and we will be reaching out to parents to let them know when materials are ready for pick-up.

If you have not been contacted, your child should attend school as planned on Monday.  Please remember what “pods” mean, our classes do not have contact with other classes. Each class has their meals as a group (sitting separated), they have recess together as a class, and they do not leave the room for Art, Music, or Guidance. They stay in their classroom and instructors come to the room. The positive case was only in contact with their class, and members of that class have been notified. The difference here is the bus ride and we have contacted those students as well.

I know this is not something we wanted, but I also know my staff will work to provide the materials and support you and your child/ren’s educational needs.

If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to email me.

Thank-you for your continued support,

Susan V. Meserve, Principal

Susan V. Meserve, Directora
