Dear D.W. Merritt School Families,
I hope that you are well and had a good Thanksgiving break. All of us here at DWM miss seeing you and we look forward to the day when we can welcome you back into the school for family lunches, book fairs, school parties, etc.
To make the holidays special for our students here at school, while following COVID guidelines, we will need to do things a little differently this season. Since families cannot attend classroom parties or send in gifts or goodies at this time, the Booster Club has generously offered their services. They will supply new items for each classroom so that students can shop for each other and for two of their family members. These items will be free of charge.
Friday – December 11 - Gift Fair! Students will draw names in their classrooms. The Booster’s Club will have a table of new items in each classroom. Students will pick and wrap a gift for the classmate that they drew and for two family members.
Wednesday – December 16 - Virtual Holiday Program! Each classroom is preparing a holiday presentation. I will record each one and post them on the school website and on the Booster Club’s facebook page!
Tuesday – December 22 - Classroom Holiday Parties! There will be games, activities, crafts and treats in each classroom!
As we strive to share the spirit of the season during this challenging time, the staff and I wish you and your families a healthy holiday and a Merry Christmas!
