The D.W. Merritt Student Council held a "Knock-Out" Childhood Cancer fundraiser last fall and donated the proceeds to the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. Upon receipt of the donation, Michael Reisman, the center director contacted the school and wanted to come and personally thank the student council for their donation. Mr. Reisman visited the school today and met with the student council. His presentation was very informative and heartfelt. He shared the history of the Beth Wright Center as well as information regarding cancer, treatment and available support. He emphasized the importance of helping others. The student council is planning to walk in the annual Beth Wright Walk For Life this May.
